Freckled Pinched Vessel I
Pinched from one piece of clay, this vessel's freckles are a result of the encounter between a certain clay and a certain glaze. What seems to be on-the-surface decoration, is actually particles in the clay body that react to the glaze, melt into it and pass through as golden-brown dots of different size.
I find freckles, in clay and on skin, fascinating. A seemingly coherent pattern of irregular dots, that is not a decoration but a part of the body and tissue, natural and uncontrolled.
